Potteries 7 District Canine Society Open show Judge Mr Rod Ghille - DORRATOR Thanks to the committee and all exhibitors, I had a very enjoyable day. Plus points were eyes and ears seem to be improving but quite a few hounds were in poor muscular condition and could benefit from a good gallop in the field. PUPPY DOG/BITCH CLASS 5 (3 ABS) 1st Bailey's Greyflax Crystal
2nd Keeling's Claonaiglen Ehervie Well bodied youngster, good depth of brisket, shorter coupled than 1st, was difficult to assess as she was very unsettled standing and moving. Hopefully this will improve as she matures. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JUNIOR DOG/BITCH CLASS 3 1ST Peach's Kilbourne Hamlet Almost 12mth male shown in hard condition without a hint of coarseness. Scored in head, dark eye, flat skull, small ears, very good reach of neck. Still to drop in chest- this will come. Correct topline, good length from hip to hock. Confident lad. B.O.B & BP 2nd Mansell/Duddell's Killoeter Pieris at Canerike Killoeter Pieris at Canerikie: Very pretty 12mth bitch lovely head, good in forechest, good hind angulation, moved well. 3rd Mansell/Duddell's Killoeter Peat at Canerike ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GRADUATE DOG/BITCH CLASS 6 (3 ABS) 1st Godden/Peach's Brackenland Tan ot Kilbourne 2yr old bitch, mature for her age. Very good in profile, strong neck, good spring of rib and depth of chest. Correct topline. Lovely long cast hound. Unfortunately she toed in on front movement. 2nd McLoughlin's Chieftain's Choice at Glenhaig Pleasing head, neat ears, a bit narrow in front. Good depth of chest, she was over stretched when standing but when allowed to stand naturally she looked a better balanced hound. 3rd McLoughlin's Graizeland Rock and Roll at Glenhaig ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- POST GRADUATE DOG/BITCH CLASS 5 3ABS 1st Bailey's Kilbourne Jenifer Jupiter to Greyflax
Very close decision between two quality bitches. Very nice type, well presented, well bodied hound. Lovely head with soft expression, good flowing lines throughout. Would have just liked more width in hind quarters. 2nd Peach's Brackenland Waltz to Kilbourne Striking dark bitch, super in outline, strong in loin, very good back end. She has an excellent shaped head, such a shame its let down with a light eye. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OPEN DOG/BITCH 4 ( 3)
1nd Peach's Readwald Thor to Kilbourne Mature, masculine hound, liked his head, well angulated front and back, deep chest, a touch flat in topline. A bit lethargic today.
